The European Research Coucil (ERC) is the premier European funding organisation for excellent frontier research. It funds creative researchers of any nationality and age, to run projects based across Europe. For 2021-2027, it has a budget of 16 billon euro, a 17% of the total budget allocated to the Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
The ERC offers 5 grant schemes: Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants, Advanced Grants, Synergy Grants and Proof of Concept.
