On November 26, the event “The Future of EU Steel Research – How to Foster EU Steel Leadership” will be held, a key event to learn how projects funded by the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) are transforming the European steel industry towards more sustainable, circular, and decarbonized models.
The conference will combine in-person and virtual formats and will present the latest results from cutting-edge RFCS projects, showcasing how European research drives innovation, policy-making, and industrial leadership in the steel sector.
The program includes two thematic sessions:
- Low to Zero Emission Iron and Steel Production
- Closing the Loop: Raw Materials, Circularity, and Industrial Symbiosis
Participants will be able to discover the latest advances in energy efficiency, electrification, hydrogen-based steel production, and innovative scrap recycling, as well as take part in a dialogue between experts, researchers, and policymakers on the role of European research in green industrial transformation.
