British Council Spain has announced the opening of the Springboard Program, an action that seeks to improve and promote the development of skills for Spanish and British research teams in bilateral collaboration.
The call will remain open until September 30, 2025 at 17:00 (CET). It is a program focused on strengthening and creating scientific collaborations between Spanish and British laboratories in which early career researchers actively participate.
Key features
- Program of grants of up to 10,000 pounds each to facilitate collaboration between universities and research centers in the United Kingdom and Spain.
- It includes a springboard meeting between team members from Spain and the UK, online training in communication skills for early stage researchers and research stays in the partner’s laboratory for PhD students and postdocs in the program.
- Each application can have up to 10 participants, of which 6 must be young researchers.
- The United Kingdom partner will serve as the lead partner and receive funding on behalf of both teams.
This is a call aimed especially at teams wishing to submit applications for European and international funding, such as Horizon Europe.

Proposals will be accepted from applications framed within these six thematic areas of Horizon Europe and priority will be given to multidisciplinary proposals.
