Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, has met with the coordinators of the first European Innovation Ecosystem projects, six of them Spanish, which bring together resources, organizations, investors and policy makers in support of innovation.
Within the framework of the EU Horizon Europe, these projects provide a direct contribution to the initiatives of the New European Innovation Agenda.
Several activities are promoted to establish joint programs between innovation ecosystem actors and to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, while developing capacity in public procurement for innovation.
Commissioner Gabriel also launched new European Innovation Ecosystems DataHub, an interactive tool that provides a dynamic map, lists of beneficiaries and projects, as well as statistics on the number of participants, the budget allocated to date and the number of projects selected for funding. “The European Innovation Ecosystem DataHub is the new tool for monitoring our progress and finding valuable partners and key territories.”
