Brussels will host the European Flagship Conference on Research Security from October 28 to 30, 2025, a key forum for defining a common strategy in this area. The event will bring together policymakers, universities, funding bodies, industry, and international partners.
The meeting will address how to combine openness and international cooperation in research with the need to protect sensitive data and avoid risks arising from the current geopolitical context. Good practices, the role of funders, and the coordination of public policies at the European level will be discussed.
Organized by the European Commission together with twelve associations from the R&D sector, the conference will be held in person and requires prior registration. Its goal is to lay the foundations for a European approach that guarantees open, secure research that respects academic freedom. Registration will be open until October 13, 2025.
