Inauguration of the Global Change Research Institute (IICG-URJC)

Formally created in September 2023, the Global Change Research Institute (IICG-URJC) is a research institute of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos that has a large research group working on the advancement of science at the margins of knowledge with a clear vocation for public service.

Located on the Móstoles Campus of the URJC, the IICG’s mission is to become a national and international reference in its field of research, as well as to serve as a bridge between the academic world, public administrations and society.

Its objectives include:

  1. High impact scientific production.
  2. Technical assistance to public administrations
  3. Direct services to the productive fabric
  4. Development of innovative actions of a socio-political nature that affect political and business decision-making.
  5. Disseminate all this scientific and technical knowledge

The inauguration of the IICG will take place on 4 October 2024 and will mark the beginning of the creation of a space for advanced and innovative research, but also represents a significant step towards coordinated and global action to address the most urgent problems of the planet.
