On 29 September 2023, the Governing Council approves the new regulations establishing the procedure for hiring research, technical and/or research management staff to carry out scientific-technical tasks at the Rey Juan Carlos University.
Purpose of the regulations
To regulate the hiring of staff for the development of research activities at the URJC, charged to external funding of research and innovation projects, contracts article 60 LOSU or research agreements.
Art. 23 bis of Law 14/2011, on Science, Technology and Innovation (LCTI): contracts for scientific and technical activities.
- Purpose of the contracts: to carry out activities linked to lines of research or scientific-technical services, including the scientific-technical management of these lines.
- Qualifications of the contracted personnel: Degree, Engineering, Architecture, Diploma, Technical Architecture, Technical Engineering, Degree, University Master’s Degree, Higher Technician or Technician, or with research personnel with a Doctorate or Doctorate degree. It may also be held with personnel whose training, experience and skills are in line with the requirements and tasks to be performed in the position to be filled.
- Duration: indefinite. They will not form part of the Public Employment Offer, nor will their call for applications be limited by the wage bill of the labour staff.
- Prior authorisation from the Region of Madrid: NOT required when the contract is linked to external funding or funding from public aid calls for proposals in competitive competition.
Formalisation of contracts
- 1st Signing of an indefinite-term contract associated with the Principal Investigator’s line of research.
- 2nd Signing of an addendum to the open-ended contract detailing the activities to be carried out, the source of funding and the expected date of completion.
- 3rd Successive addenda may be signed when the execution of the activities included in the addendum, the project or when there is no credit available.
