New call for cascade funding from Fediversity project for open and portable digital services

The European project Fediversity, part of the Horizon Europe programme and funded by the European Commission, is launching a new call for cascade funding to support open source solutions that facilitate the deployment and management of secure, untraceable and easily portable digital services.

The call runs under the topic HORIZON-CL4-2023-HUMAN-01-12 and will be open from 1 August to 1 October 2025 (12:00 noon Brussels time).

The main objective is to foster easy-to-use, sustainable and reproducible cloud services based on NixOS technology, including applications such as Mastodon, PeerTube, Owncast or storage, VPN or self-managed email solutions.

It is open to individuals, entities and organisations proposing innovative projects with a European dimension. Proposals will be funded from €5,000 to €50,000, with a flexible duration of 1 to 12 months.

Eligible activities include research, development of open source software and hardware, security audits, documentation, standardisation, testing, inclusive design, participation in technical events or deployment of services.
